Filmmaker Steven Kostanski (The Void, PG: Psycho Goreman) is set to take us on another journey to an age of awesome magic with a reboot Roger Corman’s cult 80s sword and sorcery series Deathstalker.
Daniel Bernhardt (John Wick, Nobody) is set to lead the cast of the new reimagining, and will star as the titular barbarian who finds himself cursed by a magical talisman that draws him into conflict with a malevolent wizard and a clan of monstrous assassins.
“The Deathstalker universe is such a fun sandbox to play in.” said Kostanski, “Every installment has played so fast and loose with its lore, which means that there’s no limit to my imagination when it comes to what I can pit Deathstalker against.”
“I am thrilled to be working with Steven. I love this genre, and what Steven has been making in his creature shop is mind-blowing. I am so excited to do battle as a Deathstalker who is more of a grizzled war veteran in this story” added Bernhardt.

The new Deathstalker is set to begin filming in Canada in April, and promises to deliver Kostanski’s signature mix of creature suits, prosthetic FX make-up, and stop-motion animation to realise its fantasy setting and the monsters that inhabit it.
The first two Deathstalker movies recently received a new Blu-ray release from 101 Films, and you can read our review of the set here.
