Jack O’Connell in talks to join Ryan Coogler’s Michael B. Jordan genre film

April 4, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Ryan Coogler’s upcoming event genre film for Warners Bros is beginning to take shape, with a new actor joining alongside Michael B. Jordan.

Deadline broke the story that Jack O’Connell is circling the villain role in the untitled rumored vampire movie. Michael B. Jordan joined the film earlier this year, reteaming the actor and Coogler after many collaborations.

O’Connell is an English actor who broke into the industry with the iconic UK series Skins and went on to star in films like Jodie Foster’s Money Monster, Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, and Michael Mann’s Ferrari.

Very little is known of the still-untitled film, but it’s described as a ‘genre’ feature and could be a period piece. One report even placed the movie within the world of horror, noting that the two were working on a vampire movie. None of this has been confirmed at the time of writing.

Recent reports have suggested that they’ll be filming in the Mississippi Delta using old plantation homes. Could we see a Western-inspired vampire movie with Michael B. Jordan taking revenge against Jack O’Connell’s villain? Only time will tell, but fans are frothing at the mouth for any details.

Production is expected to start this month, and the film is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 7th, 2025.
