Chris Farley has one of the best presences in films, quickly becoming a comedic legend upon arrival. Now, Hollywood is looking to tell his story with a new biopic.
We’ve learned a Chris Farley biopic is in the works. Josh Gad is set to direct it, and actor Paul Walter Hauser is attached to star as the legendary comedian. Deadline broke the story, noting the package deal is set to take the market by storm.
Little is known about the story, but the film will adapt the biography The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts by Tom Farley Jr. (Chris Farley’s brother) and Tanner Colby. Oscar and Emmy nominees Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber will adapt the screenplay. Lorne Michaels will produce via Broadway Video.
Chris Farley rose to fame during five seasons of Saturday Night Live and made hit comedic films like Black Sheep and Tommy Boy. He tragically died of an overdose in 1997 at the height of his career.
Many feel Paul Walter Hauser is a great choice. He’s an Emmy, Critics’ Choice, and Golden Globe Award winner. You may know him best for his work in Richard Jewell and the 2022 miniseries Black Bird.
Reports say that the Josh Gad directorial debut has the blessing of the Farley family.
