Boom! Studios’ Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard is heading to the big screen, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that 20th Century Fox has snapped up the rights to the Eisner Award-winning comic book series for a live-action adaptation.
Mouse Guard is written and illustrated by David Petersen and has sold close to one million copies since its launch in 2006. The series “tells of anthropomorphic mice set in medieval times, focusing on a brotherhood of mice that is sworn to protect the common folk.”
Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) has been tapped to pen the script for the adaptation, while Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is on board to produce.
