After setting a record opening this past weekend and overtaking the total gross of DC’s Justice League on Monday, Marvel’s latest superhero blockbuster has added a further $88 million in receipts on Tuesday, pushing its global box office to $808 million.
Domestically, Infinity War has earned $305.9 million in just five days, tying with Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the quickest film to pass $300 million in North America. Internationally, it has grossed a further $502.5 million in the seven days since it first began its global rollout.
Avengers: Infinity War is the ninth instalment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to pass $800 million, and will have overtaken last year’s Thor: Ragnarok ($854 million), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($864 million) and Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880 million) by the time its second weekend gets underway on Friday.
