Back in March it was announced that Iron Man and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau is developing a live-action Star Wars TV project for Disney’s upcoming streaming service, which has subsequently been revealed as taking place seven years after the events of Return of the Jedi.
Although Favreau is currently tied up with another Disney project, The Lion King, ThatHashtagShow is reporting that the actor and filmmaker is now assembling his crew for the series, and has enlisted Star Wars veteran Doug Chiang as production designer and Andrew L. Jones (The Jungle Book) as art director.
Chiang certainly has plenty of experience in the galaxy far, far away, having worked on concept design for The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and The Force Awakens, as well as serving as production designer on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
As yet, there’s no word on when we can expect the Star Wars TV series to premiere, but Favreau can currently be seen (well, heard) as Rio Durant in Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is in theaters now.
