UPDATE: Producer Jason Blum has revealed on Twitter that the first trailer for the new Halloween movie will be with us this coming Friday, June 8th. Original story follows…
It looks like we won’t have very long before we get our first look at the new Halloween, with Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum revealing on social media that the trailer will be with us early June.
“I want to assure Halloween fans that we hear you,” said Blum. “We have read your comments. And I can assure you that early June will be a happy time for you or perhaps I should say for most of you.”
This matches recent rumours that the trailer for the new movie – which sees Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode 40 years after John Carpenter’s original – will be with us either later this week or early next week. Let’s hope that proves to be the case!

Halloween is undergoing some reshoots ahead of its October release, after it was reported earlier this month that the film received some negative feedback at a recent test screening, particularly with regards to its “unsatisfying” ending.
Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
Halloween is being directed by David Gordon Green from a script by Green and Danny McBride. In addition to the returning Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie Strode) and Nick Castle (Michael Myers), the film stars Judy Greer (War for the Planet of the Apes), Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black), Will Patton (Shots Fired), Virginia Gadner (Runaways), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound) and Drew Scheid (Stranger Things).
