E-Line Media announces sea exploration title Beyond Blue

June 15, 2018 by Andrew Newton

E-Line Media have announced they have formed a partnership with the BBC to bring sea exploration/educational title, Beyond Blue, to console and PC gamers in early 2019.  Inspired by the BBC’s Blue Planet II nature series, Beyond Blue will take players far below the surface of our vast and largely uncharted ocean.  A new trailer can be found below…

Beyond Blue contains a rich storyline that sees players travel to the near future to probe the mysteries of the ocean as Mirai, the lead on a newly formed research team.  Oceanic explorers will need to use resource management skills and groundbreaking technologies to achieve objectives and challenge themselves by making decisions as to what objectives need to be prioritised during the expedition.

As players progress through the game Ocean Insight videos will be unlocked to expand on a particular subject.  All these insight videos are never seen before footage from the Blue Planet II production.

“During our early conversations with these scientists we were moved by the passionate and almost spiritual way in which they talked about the world they had experienced on dives, or in submersibles, and the giddiness with which they spoke about the next generation of enabling technology that promises to greatly accelerate the pace of discovery.”, said Michael Angst, CEO of E-Line Media. “We started asking each scientist how they would use their time below if they could jump forward ten or fifteen years and lead a small team powered with a full fleet of advanced technology. We found their answers fascinating and the game has emerged as a way to channel these visions into what we hope will be an atmospheric and moving experience.”

Beyond Blue will be available early 2019 on PC and consoles.
