Indie developer Obsidian Entertainment have revealed the release date for the first DLC pack for their award winning RPG Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The Beast of Winter DLC pack is the first of three major expansions planned for 2018 and will be arriving on the 2nd August. Obsidian have released a teaser trailer (see below) to give appetites a thoroughly good whetting.
The Beast of Winter DLC takes players to the southernmost reaches of the Deadfire Archipelago where they are thought by the island’s inhabitants to be Duskspeaker, the harbinger of the end of all things and are set the quest of fulfilling the destiny for the worshipers of the god of entropy and disaster, Rymrgand. Players will join forces with Vatnir, an Endings Godlike and Priest of Rymrgand ro confront an ancient and powerful dragon that even the gods fear.
Obsidian will also be releasing a free 2.0 patch alongside the next free DLC, the ‘Deck of Many Things’ Pack. Update 2.0 will bring about a host of bug fixes and balance improvements plus new challenge modes that will test player’s mettle in unique and interesting ways.
Far in the southernmost reaches of the Deadfire Archipelago, frost and death have encroached upon the land of the living. You, Watcher, have received a missive from the isle’s residents: worshipers of Rymrgand, the god of entropy and disaster. They call you Duskspeaker, a harbinger of the end, and pray you fulfill your destiny.
The Beast of Winter expansion, Update 2.0, and the Deck of Many Things DLC Pack will all be available on the 2nd August.
