Back in May it was announced that Charlize Theron (Atomic Blonde) will be portraying former lawyer and Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in director Jay Roach’s (Trumbo) Fair and Balanced, which is set to explore the sexual harassment scandal surrounding former Fox News chief Roger Ailes.
Well, we now have word of two further A-list additions to the cast, with Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) circling the role of former anchor Gretchen Carlson, while Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) is in talks to portray a news producer.
Carlson played a key role in bringing down Ailes, becoming the first woman to file a sexual harassment lawsuit against the disgraced executive, who died last year.
Roach is directing Fair and Balanced from a script by Oscar-winner Charles Randolph (The Big Short), while Roach, Randolph and Theron are all on board as producers.
Nicole Kidman is currently shooting the second season of Big Little Lies, and has a host of projects incoming including Aquaman, Destroyer and Boy Erased. Robbie meanwhile will is currently in production on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and has Mary, Queen of Scots arriving later this year.
