Back in February of last year it was reported that Jack Nicholson was circling Paramount Pictures’ planned remake of the hit German comedy Toni Erdmann, which would have marked the screen icon’s first role since 2010’s How Do You Know.
Well, according to Deadline, Nicholson has now decided to pass on the project and is no longer attached, although the film has found itself a director in Lisa Cholodenko (Olive Kitteridge, The Kids Are All Right), who is also writing the script.
The Oscar-nominated German film revolves around a father who attempts to reconnect with his hard-working daughter by creating an alter-ego who poses as her boss’ life coach. Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) remains attached to portray the daughter, as well as producing the film.
