Veteran developer Housemarque have announced their latest title for PC, Stormdivers, a third person battle royale game set in a near future dystopian world. A Gamescom trailer has been released (see below) showing what players can expect to find when the game is released in 2019.
In Stormdivers players land on an abandoned island where a deadly nano experiment is dangerously out of control and producing a permanent artificial storm system that consumes everything. Those who land on the island not only have to fight off the competition in chaotic battles but also survive the storm.
“With Stormdivers we are entering new grounds as a studio that for over 20 years has been known for creating arcade coin-op inspired games,” said Ilari Kuittinen, CEO of Housemarque. “We began its development when battle royale was still a niche gameplay mode, yet despite the number of BR games on the market now, Stormdivers will excite players with its fast-paced gameplay, metagame, classes and various events, all packaged with Housemarque’s trademark high-quality visual effects. Stormdivers is more than just another battle royale game, and we plan to roll out new content regularly in the future to continuously expand the experience. We invite everyone to check out the trailer to see what we have in store!”
Housemarque plan on expanding Stormdivers with other game modes and content including more areas to fight over, PvE co-op missions and more classes.
Stormdivers will arrive on PC in 2019.
