Last week it was announced that Zoe Colletti (Annie) had become the first addition to the cast of the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark, and now we’ve got word on five more additions to the CBS Films and eOne project.
As revealed by Deadline, Austin Abrams (The Americans), Michael Garza (Wayward Pines), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Austin Zajur (Kidding) and Natalie Ganzhorn (Wet Bum) have been cast in the film, which is based upon Alvin Schwartz’s YA novel series and has André Øvredal (Trollhunter) directing.
“We spent months searching for and assembling the perfect group of actors to help us realize the most terrifying adaptation that we could conceive,” said Øvredal.
“I am honored to support Andre’s vision and, with our partners, to bring the incredible world of Scary Stories to the screen,” added del Toro.
Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark follows a group of teens from a small town looking to solve the mystery behind a series of horrific deaths.
