Tom Beasley sits down with gentle giant Dave Bautista to chat about his latest hardman-with-a comedic-wink role in football stadium terrorism thriller Final Score…
The world knows better than to mess with Dave Bautista. The former WWE wrestler – a six-time world champion no less – has had an acting career dominated by musclebound badass roles, whether as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy, as a bruising Replicant in Blade Runner 2049 or as a thorn in James Bond’s side in Spectre.
Big Dave’s latest big screen outing, Final Score, sees him play a military veteran taking a rare excursion to a football stadium, watching West Ham United play their last game at the Boleyn Ground with his friend’s daughter. Typically, terrorists have chosen precisely this evening to take charge of the stadium and plant explosives underneath the stands. It’s at this point, of course, that Bautista steps forward to teach them a violent lesson.
Bautista was in London last week to chat about Final Score and revealed where his football loyalties lie, as well as whether he compares his own career to that of former wrestling rival John Cena and his Star Wars dream.

A group of heavily armed criminals take control of a stadium packed with 35,000 football fans. Ex-soldier Michael Knox (Dave Bautista, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, BLADE RUNNER 2049, SPECTRE) is forced to use skills from his military background and everything at his disposal to save the spectators, including the life of a fallen comrade’s daughter.
Final Score is set for release on September 7th.
