Dwayne Johnson announces start of production on Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw

Dwayne Johnson has taken to Instagram to announce that filming is now underway on Hobbs and Shaw, the first spinoff in the Fast & Furious franchise, which sees Johnson and Jason Statham reprising their roles from the main series.

David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2) is directing Hobbs and Shaw, which will see Helen Mirren reprising her role as Magdalene Shaw from The Fate of the Furious alongside franchise newcomers Idris Elba (Luther) and Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Fallout).

Hobbs and Shaw is set for release on August 2nd 2019.
