HBO has announced that it has enlisted Oscar and Golden Globe-winning Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails to compose the score for Damon Lindelof’s upcoming TV adaptation of Watchmen.
Reznor and Ross began working together as composers on David Fincher’s The Social Network, winning the Oscar and Globe Globe Awards for their efforts. They have also scored Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, as well as the Gillian Flynn adaptation Gone Girl and feature documentary Before the Flood.
Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.
