Having scored a success with its Castlevania series, it seems that Netflix is looking to bring another video game franchise to the small screen, with Boom! Studios founder Andrew Cosby tweeting that he is in final talks with the streaming service and Activision to develop an animated adaptation of Diablo.
Created by Blizzard, the Diablo franchise launched in 1996 and takes place in the Kingdom of Khanduras, where a lone hero fights to rid the world of Diablo, the Lord of Terror. It was followed by Diablo II in 2000 and Diablo III in 2012, with the latter set to be released on the Nintendo Switch as Diablo III Eternal Collection in November.
Cosby previously created the TV series Eureka, which ran for five seasons between 2006 and 2012, and recently penned the script for the upcoming Hellboy reboot, which is set for release in January 2019.
