With series nine of Doctor Who set to premiere on the BBC next month, a rumour has emerged from the British satirical magazine Private Eye suggesting that there will be no full series in 2016.
The magazine claims that BBC staff have been informed that showrunner Steven Moffat’s commitments to Sherlock will delay the tenth series, although its possible that we’ll see some Doctor Who specials in 2016.

At this point, the BBC has not confirmed its plans for Doctor Who in 2016, but Private Eye has proven reliable with its Who scoops in the past.
Series nine of Doctor Who is set to get underway on September 19th.
