Deadline is reporting that Universal Cable Productions is looking to follow the success of Happy! by bringing another Image Comics title to the small screen in W. Maxwell Prince’s horror-fantasy series Ice Cream Man.
The comic, which launches in January, is an anthology series presented by the titular Ice Cream Man, who peels back the layers of the suburban American psyche with stories that always end with a macabre twist, a la The Twilight Zone and Tales From the Crypt.
Max and Adam Reid (Sneaky Pete) are on board to write the adaptation as well as executive producing alongside Chris Bender, Jake Weiner and Jake Wagner of Good Fear Films. UCP will soon be shopping the project to cable and streaming outlets.
