Earlier this year it was announced that Sicario: Day of the Soldado helmer Stefano Sollima had signed on to direct a big screen take on the Call of Duty franchise for the newly-developed film division Activision Blizzard Studios, and now comes word that the project is looking to go into production next year.
During an interview with Discussing Film, screenwriter Kieran Fitzgerald (Snowden, Wormwood) has announced that filming is slated to get underway this coming Spring for release in 2020 or 2021. Early casting meetings have already taken place, and so we can presumably expect to start hearing some news about the film over the coming months as the cast and crew come together.
