In a rather unexpected piece of news, Deadline is reporting that Will Ferrell is teaming with Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gus Van Sant on Prince of Fashion, a movie based upon Michael Chabon’s (Wonder Boys, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay), GQ article ‘My Son, The Prince of Fashion’.
The article details Chabon’s trip to the Paris Men’s Fashion Week with his 13-year-old son, and “tells a heartwarming story of his son’s passion for a world beyond his years, from meeting his fashion idol to experiencing a week of high-fashion runways, at the end of which he finally feels like he’s found ‘his people.'”

Prince of Fashion will see Ferrell starring, as well as producing with Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Game Night). Van Sant meanwhile will write and direct the project, which is being produced by Amazon.
Ferrell will next be seen on the big screen alongside his Step Brothers co-star John C. Reilly in Holmes & Watson, which is set to open this December, while Van Sant’s latest film Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot was released earlier in the year.
