Jurassic World passes $1.6 billion worldwide

August 17, 2015 by admin

It’s been a great year for Universal, with two of their movies passing the $1 billion mark (Jurassic World and Furious 7) and their animated outing Minions set to pass the billion dollar mark in the next couple of weeks. And one of those billion dollar movies is still making a lot of bank.

Now in its 10th week of release, Jurassic World added another $1.2 million to its domestic box office (totaling up to $637.9 million), and has brought its worldwide figure to $968 million. All in all, Jurassic World now sits at $1.6 billion worldwide.

Pretty impressive! It’s unlikely to beat its position as the third biggest movie of all-time as it is sat behind Titanic ($2.1 billion) and Avatar ($2.7 billion).

SEE ALSO: Jurassic World 2 will be released in the UK before the US

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howward (The Help), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Ty Simpkins (Iron Man 3), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), B.D. Wong (Jurassic Park) and Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).
