After finishing up work on the Rocky spinoff sequel Creed II, rising director Steven Caple Jr. has wasted little time in securing his next project, with Deadline reporting that he is set to helm ByAll for Legendary Pictures.
Based on a ten-page short story from Creed II co-writer Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier, who will also write the script, ByAll is described as “Collateral meets The Warriors” and takes place in a slightly future Los Angeles, where there is no more LAPD.
Legendary has just secured the rights to the story for a seven-figure sum, coming out victorious in a hotly-contested auction where there were ten other bidders.
Caple was handpicked by Ryan Coogler, Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan to direct the upcoming Creed sequel, having impressed with his low-budget feature The Land, and TV work on Class and Grown-ish.
