It looks like legendary anchorman Ron Burgundy is set to swap local TV news for the world of podcasting, with Deadline reporting that Will Ferrell is set to return as his character for The Ron Burgundy Podcast.
“Listen, I don’t know what a podcast is, but I currently have a lot of time on my hands and a lot to talk about,” said Burgundy. “I am also broke. Therefore, I am very excited to do this podcast. It is literally saving my life.”
While details are scarce, the podcast has received a two-season twelve-episode order and is a co-production by iHeartRadio and Funny or Die. It is set to launch on the iHeartRadio Podcast Network in early 2019.
Ferrell first took on the role for 2004’s cult comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and returned in the 2013 sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Together, the two movies grossed $263 million worldwide.
