NBC is developing a TV adaptation of Malik Evans and Richard Sparkman’s graphic novel series The Blacksmith, which is being scripted by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2, Truth or Dare).
The Blacksmith revolves around Alex Malloy, a man who builds high-tech weaponry for U.S. government agents. However, when he discovers some of the files containing his weapon designs have fallen into the wrong hands, he sets off on a journey to recover the files before his weapons are used for harm.
In addition to writing, Wadlow – who is gearing up to shoot the Fantasy Island movie for Blumhouse Productions – will executive produce alongside Studio 71’s Michael Schreiber and Jason Netter of comic publisher Kickstart.
