We’re still none the wiser about whether he’ll be donning the cape and cowl again for The Batman, but Ben Affleck has added a new project to his upcoming slate, having signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of Kate Alice Marshall’s novel I Am Still Alive.
Deadline reports that Universal Pictures has snapped up the rights to the book, which is described ad “Wild meets The Revenant” and follows a young girl called Jeff who is forced to move in with her off-the-grid dad (Affleck) in the Canadian wilderness when her mother is killed in a car crash. However, she then finds herself stranded in the wilderness, with only her father’s dog for company, and faces a struggle for survival.
Affleck has three films in the can in J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier, Dee Rees’ The Last Thing He Wanted and Gavin O’Connor’s Torrance, while he is also attached to reunite with O’Connor for a sequel to The Accountant.
