Just before Christmas it was announced that Shawn Levy had become the latest filmmaker to vacate the director’s chair on Sony’s long-planned Uncharted movie, and now we have word that the studio has found his replacement.
According to Variety, Sony has enlisted Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) to direct the film, which will see Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War star Tom Holland taking on the role of adventurer Nathan Drake.
Holland seemingly confirmed his continued involvement with the film on social media today with the following tweet (which also led to some speculation that he was about to drop the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer):
So I spoke to Sony…

Trachtenberg joins a growing list of directors who’ve been attached to the Uncharted movie, with Levy, David O. Russell (The Fighter), Neil Burger (Divergent) and Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) all on board at one point or another. Let’s hope he’s the one to finally bring this project to the big screen.
