Lethal Weapon star Danny Glover has joined the cast of Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel, Deadline has revealed.
The follow-up to 2017’s blockbuster will reunite director Jake Kasdan with stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart, while Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) and Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) have recently been announced as joining the franchise.
Character details for the three new additions are being kept under wraps, as is the plot for the film, which has been scripted by Kasdan and Welcome to the Jungle co-writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. We do know however that Sony has set the untitled movie for a December 13th 2019 release date.
Glover was last seen alongside Robert Redford in David Lowery’s The Old Man & the Gun, and has A24’s The Last Black Man in San Francisco set to premiere this month at the Sundance Film Festival.
