Now, he probably said the same thing after the first movie given his character’s fate, but Wonder Woman star Chris Pine has revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he doesn’t expect his character Steve Trevor to appear in Wonder Woman 3.
“I think Steve’s done,” said Pine, who reprises his role for next year’s sequel Wonder Woman 1984. “I think Steve’s done his bit. I wish them all the luck in the world.”
As yet, it hasn’t been confirmed just how Steve Trevor is alive (and hasn’t aged) in the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel, although director Patty Jenkins has said that his return “makes perfect sense”.
However, with Jenkins suggesting that Wonder Woman 3 will have a contemporary setting, one would have to assume that Pine will indeed be absent from the third movie, seeing as it’s pretty clear from Justice League and the present day scenes bookending Wonder Woman that Steve is no longer on the scene.
