Imperator: Rome release date announced by Paradox

February 5, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Paradox has announced that they will be releasing their Roman empire based strategy game Imperator: Rome on the 25th April.  Players will be able govern the lives of countless thousands in this strategy, poviding they gain the favour of the gods first.  A new trailer has been unveiled celebrating the game’s release date, and you can watch this below…

Imperator: Rome takes players back to ancient Rome a mere decade after the death of Alexander the Great, it is a time when the empire has yet to reach its full extent so there are hundreds of ancient kingdoms, tribes and republics to expand into.

This new historical strategy will feature:

  • Unique Government Mechanics: Kings may find it easier to do as they please than a consul in a republic, but there’s more chance of traitors seeking to overthrow more quickly.
  • Highly detailed map that includes hundreds of towns, some of which have fortresses or ports that indicate their strategic importance.
  • Manage all the citizens, freemen, slaves and tribal populations to ensure they bring benefits to the empire.
  • A flexible trade system allows surplus goods from far across the sea to be exchanged to satisfy the population or build bigger armies.
  • Different cultures will develop their armies in varying ways.  Persians will go for horse archers while Romans will plump for their heavy infantry.
  • Choose battle tactics to suit the army and the terrain.
  • Guide hundreds of characters through three centuries of history and watch families rise and fall.
  • Dynamic events, barbarian migrations, inventions, religious ideas and much, much more.

Imperator: Rome  will be ready for you to command this April.
