The cast of the upcoming film American Pastoral has swelled this week, with four more actors announced as having joined Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut.
David Strathain (Good Night and Good Luck), Peter Riegert (The Mask), Uzo Aduba (Orange Is The New Black) and Valorie Curry (The Following) have all joined the cast, and will team up with the already announced Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Dakota Fanning (Night Moves) and McGregor himself.
Based on Philip Roth’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, the book follows Seymour “Swede” Levov, “a legendary high school athlete, who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. Swede’s seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and committing a deadly act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War.”
American Pastoral is scheduled to start filming within the next month for a 2016 release.
