Executives for Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings TV series haven’t closed the door on Peter Jackson being involved with the show.
The Lord of the Rings TV show has a lot to live up to when you consider the books and Peter Jackson’s monumental and critically adored trilogy. So far, he doesn’t seem to be involved with the new series but could that change?
Well, according to a recent interview with two executives at Amazon, there seems to be some chance that Jackson comes on board in some capacity. Speaking ton SlashFilm, Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios Television, said:
“We don’t have any news on Peter Jackson. There hasn’t been any negativity around it. We just don’t have any news on that yet and what his involvement may be.”
Albert Cheng, the co-head of TV for Amazon Studios, also added, “He is aware of what’s happening.”
While these comments from Amazon don’t state that Jackson will be involved, they certainly don’t rule out the prospect. If it wasn’t something that is being considered or if Amazon weren’t interested in Jackson, surely they would just close the door on the idea. Something to keep an eye on perhaps.
