Deadline is reporting that Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt has signed on to star in the sci-fi film Ghost Draft, which is being directed by Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) for Skydance Media.
The film, which is being eyed as a potential franchise, has been in development for several years and follows “a husband and father who is drafted to fight a future war in which the fate of humanity may rely on his ability to correct issues of the past.”
Pratt’s latest movie, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, opened soft at the box office last weekend, although that won’t be the case with his next film as he reprises the role of Star-Lord for Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.
His upcoming slate includes Disney-Pixar’s Onward, and the as-yet-untitled Jurassic World 3, while he also remains attached to Cowboy Ninja Viking, although – as with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – that project has been delayed indefinitely.

Director McKay meanwhile continues to attach himself to projects on a seemingly bi-monthly basis; along with Ghost Draft, his other potential projects include a live-action Jonny Quest movie, a LEGO Batman Movie sequel and the DC solo film Nightwing for Warner Bros., as well as Dungeons & Dragons for Paramount Pictures.
