Back in 2017 it was announced that Oscar-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle (La La Land, First Man) is teaming with Netflix for a Paris-set musical series entitled The Eddy, and now we have our first piece of casting news.
According to Variety, Tahar Rahim (A Prophet, The Kindness of Strangers) is in talks to star in the series, which has been scripted by Jack Thorne (Glue, The Last Panthers) and “will revolve around a club, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them.”
Chazelle is set to direct multiple episodes of the series, as well as executive producing with Thorne, Alan Poul (The Newsroom) and composer Glen Ballard, who is also set to score the show. Houda Benyaminia (Divines) is also believed to be attached to helm several of the episodes.
