UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 11th September to Sunday 13th September 2015…
It was all change at the top of the UK box office this past weekend with three newcomers occupying the top spots in the chart, led by the Tom Hardy-headlined Legend, whcih pulled in an impressive £5,189,074 (including £1.49 million in previews) to take first place.
YA sequel Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials claimed second with £2,799,428 (including £349,000) of previews – a slight improvement over its predecessor, which opened with £2.04 million back in October of last year. Meanwhile, M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit debuted in third with £1,031,292, while Woody Allen’s Irrational Man scraped into the chart in tenth with £197,188.
