Twelve years after we last saw Charlie’s Angels on the big screen, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Sony is rebooting the franchise with Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 2) in talks to direct.
Based on the hit 1970s TV series starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith, Charlie’s Angels revolves around three female detectives who solve cases for their mysterious benefactor Charlie.
The series first made the jump to the big screen under director McG in 2000, with Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu featuring in the cast. The trio returned alongside McG for the 2003 sequel Charlie’s Angles: Full Throttle.
