Legendary Pictures has tapped Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell) to write and direct an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story Rest Stop, Deadline has revealed.
First published in 2003 and collected in 2008’s Just After Sunset, the movie adaptation is being described as “a propulsive cat and mouse thriller [and] follows the twisted journey of two women after a fateful encounter at a highway rest stop.”
Rest Stop joins an ever-expanding list of King adaptations in the works; this year alone we’ve got the recently-released Pet Sematary along with In the Tall Grass, It: Chapter Two and Doctor Sleep., while this year has already brought news of movies based upon Mile 81 and The Talisman.
