THR is reporting that streaming service Hulu has ordered an eight-episode anthology series based upon North American Lake Monsters, author Nathan Balllingrud’s collection of short stories.
The as-yet-untitled series has been created by writer and executive producer Mary Laws (Preacher), and has Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow) attached to direct. It is being described as “a contemporary horror anthology [which] will explore how encounters with vampires, fallen angels and other monsters force Louisiana natives to re-examine their broken lives.”
North American Lake Monsters becomes the latest anthology offering from the Disney-controlled Hulu, and will be episodic a la Into the Dark, rather than the seasonal anthology approach of Castle Rock.
