Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark gets a new trailer

June 3, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its release this summer, a new trailer has arrived online for director Andre Ovredal’s (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) new horror Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, the upcoming big screen adaptation of Alvin Schwartz’s classic children’s book trilogy; watch it here…

It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying tome.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is set for release on August 9th in the US and features a cast that includes Zoe Margaret Colletti (Wildlife), Michael Garza (Wayward Pines), Austin Zajur (Kidding), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Natalie Ganzhorn (Wet Bum), Austin Abrams (The Americans), Gil Bellows (Patriot), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), and Javier Botet (It).
