Yellowstone renewed for third season, Josh Holloway joins cast

June 20, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Coinciding with its season two premiere in the States last night, Paramount Network has announced that it has renewed its acclaimed drama series Yellowstone for a third season.

Yellowstone is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, and sees Kevin Costner portraying John Dutton, the billionaire head of the Dutton family, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States and is faced with the challenge of defending his land.

In addition to the renewal announcement, it has also been revealed that Lost and Colony star Josh Holloway will be joining the cast for a major recurring role as Roarke Carter, described as “a handsome, charming, shaggy-haired hedge fund manager with ambitious plans in Montana”.

The first season of Yellowstone was 2018’s most watched new cable series with an average of 5.1 million viewers, positioning it as the flagship drama of the newly-launched Paramount Network.
