Gears 5 technical test to begin on July 19th

Microsoft and The Coalition have announced the technical test for Gears 5 will begin on 19th July, allowing players to opportunity to try out the game’s multiplayer features before launch.

The technical test will include a variety of game modes from Gears 5’s multiplayer including Escalation, the game’s competitive mode, Arcade, a brand-new multiplayer game mode, and the returning favourite King of the Hill. Additionally, there is a new Bootcamp training mode that allows new players to the Gears franchise to practice their skills and learn the mechanics before entering a multiplayer mode. The test will also include a series of challenges called Tour of Duty, which will allow players to unlock an exclusive cosmetic banner and three weapon skins.

The technical test will be available to pre-download for all eligible players on 17th July, but won’t officially open until 19th July and will stay open until 21st July, and then re-open on 26th July until 29th July. Players can gain access to the test if you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber or have pre-ordered Gears 5.
