Fresh of the success of his latest pairing with Jennifer Aniston in Murder Mystery, Adam Sandler is currently prepping for his next feature, an as-yet-untitled Halloween-themed comedy (previously announced as Hubie Halloween), and Deadline has announced details of the film’s supporting cast.
Set to join Sandler in the movie is an all-star ensemble cast that includes Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Michael Chiklis and Kenan Thompson, as well as appearances from China Anne McClain, Paris Berelc, Tim Meadows, Colin Quinn, June Squibb, Shaquille O’Neal, Karan Brar, Noah Schnapp, Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor, Kym Whitley, Lavell Crawford, Betsy Sodaro, George Wallace, and Blake Clark.
Scripted by Sandler and Tim Herlihy and directed by Steven Brill (Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, The Do-Over, Sandy Wexler), the film will see Sandler playing Hubie Dubois, a good-natured but eccentric community volunteer in his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts, who finds himself at the center of a real murder case on Halloween and discovers that something really is going bump in the night.
Sander’s last film Murder Mystery shattered records for Netflix, being viewed by almost 31 million accounts in its first three days of release. He’ll next be seen on the big screen in the comedy crime drama Uncut Gems, which opens on Christmas Day in North America.
