With the franchise coming to an end following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, longtime X-Men producer Hutch Parker is heading to another cinematic superhero universe as THR reports that Sony has enlisted him to produce Venom 2.
Parker first joined the X-Men franchise for 2011’s The Wolverine, and worked on X-Men: Days of Future Past, Fantastic Four, X-Men: Apocalypse, Logan, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants. He will produce the Venom sequel alongside Amy Pascal, Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad.
Venom 2 is being directed by Andy Serkis (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle) and will see the return of cast members Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock), Michelle Williams (Anne Weying), Reid Scott (Dan Lewis) and Woody Harrelson (Cletus Kasady, a.k.a. Carnage).
