Last month came the surprise announcement that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are reprising the roles of Neo and Trinity for a fourth outing in The Matrix franchise, and now Reeves has offered his first brief comments on the project to Entertainment Tonight.
“It’s very ambitious, as it should be,” said Reeves of the screenplay from director Lana Wachowski and co-writers Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell, confirming that the script is finished, and he’s already had the chance to read it.

Plot details for The Matrix 4 are being kept tightly under wraps, nor do we have any additional casting news beyond the return of Reeves and Moss. Filming is expected to take place at some point next year, although there’s no word yet on when we can expect the movie to arrive in cinemas.
The Matrix isn’t the only franchise that Reeves is revisiting, as he’s also recently wrapped filming on Bill & Ted Face the Music, reuniting with co-star Alex Winter for the long-awaited third instalment in the Bill & Ted series, which opens in August 2020.
