Having broken out together with their work on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, actor Jason Statham and director Guy Ritchie are now set to reunite for a remake of the 2004 French film Le Convoyeur.
The revenge-based action thriller will see Statham taking on the role of H, “a cold and mysterious character working at a cash truck company responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles each week”.
As per Deadline, the as-yet-untitled film will weave feature a suspenseful and carefully constructed narrative, weaving across timelines and between various characters’ perspectives for what is described as “a thrilling and mind-bending experience”.
“I’m looking forward to bringing this story to life and working with Jason while he still has the use of his knees,” said Ritchie, who is coming off his hugely successful Disney remake Aladdin, and next returns to his crime caper roots with The Gentleman starring Matthew McConaughey [watch the trailer here].
