David Fincher’s upcoming Netflix film Mank has just added Amanda Seyfried (The Art of Racing in the Rain). She will star alongside Gary Oldman, who is set to play Citizen Kane screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz in the biopic.
Scripted by Fincher’s late father Jack, who passed away in 2003, Mank will reportedly follows Mankiewicz’s tumultuous development of the Oscar-winning script for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane, which is widely regarded as one of – if not the – greatest films of all time. To keep with the film’s time period, Fincher will shoot Mank entirely in black and white.
The film will also star Lily Collins (Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey), Arliss Howard (The Lost World: Jurassic Park), Ferdinand Kingsley (Victoria), Jamie McShane (Bloodline), Joseph Cross (Big Little Lies), Sam Troughton (Chernobyl), Toby Leonard Moore (Billions) , Tom Burke (C.B. Strike) and Tom Pelphrey (Marvel’s Iron Fist).
Production on Mank is scheduled to begin in November.
