Latin singer Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado, known by the stage name Ozuna, has been added to the cast for Universal’s upcoming sequel, Fast & Furious 9.
Franchise producer and star Vin Diesel revealed the news of Ozuna’s casting via a photo uploaded to his personal Instagram account which includes Diesel, Ozuna, and director Justin Lin.
“As you know, we have often found great talent in the music industry to cross over into film,” Diesel wrote. “They are expected to leave all the accolades at the door to embrace the character with integrity… and that is exactly what Ozuna has done. Very proud of your work and role in Fast 9! Pa Mi Gente! All love, Always…”

Ozuna joins returning franchise stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren alongside new additions John Cena (Bumblebee), Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders), Anna Sawai (Ninja Assassin), Vinnie Bennett (Ghost in the Shell), MMA fighter Francis Ngannou, and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy).
The film is to be directed by Justin Lin, who will be directing his fifth Fast & Furious film, with the screenplay being written by Dan Casey. Diesel is producing the sequel through his One Race Films and Lin for Perfect Storm Entertainment. Fast & Furious 9 is set for release on May 22nd 2020.
