Ryan Reynolds say he’s working on Deadpool 3 with Marvel Studios

December 28, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having teased a meeting with Marvel back in October, Ryan Reynolds has now seemingly confirmed that the Deadpool franchise will be continuing under Disney, with the star revealing on Live With Kelly and Ryan that Deadpool 3 is in development at Marvel Studios.

“We’re working on it with the whole team,” said Reynolds when asked whether we’re likely to see him returning as the Merc with a Mouth for Deadpool 3. “We’re over at Marvel now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kind of crazy.”

The rights to Deadpool moved to Disney and Marvel following the 20th Century Fox acquisition earlier in the year, and while it’s always been assumed that Marvel will look to reboot the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the MCU, there’s been much speculation as to whether the hugely successful Deadpool franchise would survive in its current form – and it appears that we may now have our answer.

Are you excited at the prospect of the Deadpool series continuing under Disney/Marvel? Can you see the character being incorporated into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, or would you prefer to see the franchise kept separate? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, or on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
