Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will begin filming soon.
With the start of a new phase of Marvel movies, many are excited to see new properties arrive at the big screen. One of these is the Kung-fu inspired Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Good news for fans of the character and those looking forward to the movie is that production gets underway in just a few months. Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed the news when speaking at a talk with the New York Film Academy:
“I went to my then assistant Jonathan Schwartz, who is now in Australia producing Shang-Chi & The Legend of The Ten Rings that goes into production in a few months. Shang-Chi is going to be so much more than a kung-fu movie, but it has elements of that which we’re excited about.”
So, there you have it! Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we get a glimpse of the film itself. It will be interesting to see how this one hits home with the MCU faithful.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (The Glass Castle) and will see Simu Liu (Kim’s Convenience) taking on the title role as the Master of Kung-Fu alongside Tony Leung (Infernal Affairs) as The Mandarin and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on February 12th 2021.
