Thanks to a strong performance in China, Marvel’s newest superhero franchise Ant-Man has become the studio’s ninth movie to reach the half billion mark at the global box office, and its seventh consecutive release to reach that milestone.
The Peyton Reed-directed movie has grossed $179 domestically and $321.6 million from international markets, for a total haul of $500.6 million and counting. That puts it above The Incredible Hulk ($263.4 million), Captain America: The First Avenger ($370.6 million) and Thor ($449.3 million).
